Levels of Care

At Pasadena Villa Outpatient – North Charlotte, we offer four levels of care for mental health treatment: a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), an evening in-person intensive outpatient (E-IOP), a day virtual IOP (V-IOP), and an evening V-IOP.

Our PHP includes intensive psychotherapeutic treatment and support in a less restrictive setting than inpatient care. Clients participate in a structured therapeutic program during the day while living in the comfort of their own home. The goal is to establish a foundation for long-term recovery support. Our PHP is appropriate for clients who are experiencing the following symptoms: withdrawal from normal activities; behavioral problems; depression; anxiety struggling with pervasive, psychiatric disorders; at risk of danger to themselves; or at risk of being violent toward others.

Our IOP is designed to help individuals who are experiencing an increase in distressing symptoms and behaviors or aren’t progressing in traditional outpatient services. The extra treatment and support foster meaningful improvement and create a solid foundation for clients transitioning to community treatment.

Our evening DBT IOP Skills program spans eight weeks and exclusively operates on Monday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST.

Day Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (V-IOP): Our virtual intensive outpatient program (V-IOP) is a convenient and COVID-safe option that allows participants to join programming virtually, which meets three hours per day and three times per week.
Evening V-IOP: Provided throughout the state of North Carolina, our evening V-IOP is an eight-week virtual program offered only in the evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm EST.

Our Program

At Pasadena Villa Outpatient – North Charlotte, we provide customized care that’s designed to meet each client’s specific needs and unique goals. We understand that people are not their diagnosis; they’re a combination of all that’s happened in their lives and their future journeys. Because of this, our clinical team of board-certified psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, registered art therapists, and licensed professional counselors partner with each client and their family to design a treatment plan that provides a successful pathway to recovery.

Our clinical team creates intensive treatment plans that allow each client to explore new ways to enjoy life. In a supportive and healing environment, we take a whole-person approach to treatment using evidence-based therapies that facilitate progress from clinical care towards independent self-care. Our program provides tailored groups that meet each week to teach our clients practical ways to handle life’s challenges, ensuring they address each client’s needs. Group-based therapy, individual psychotherapy, and family sessions ensure optimal progress in treatment and help improve each client’s quality of life.

The treatment process begins with the primary therapist conducting a comprehensive assessment that, upon permission from each client, includes consultation with the client’s prescriber, psychotherapist, significant others, and other service providers. Our experienced psychiatrists oversee all treatment, conduct psychiatric evaluations, and provide careful medication management as needed. Our psychiatrists also communicate with the community prescriber ensuring medication changes fit within their treatment plan. Additionally, we value and foster collaboration with other community providers as we serve as an extension of each client’s treatment team. The two-way communication ensures clients receive seamless continuity of care as they transition into and out of our program.
