  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Levels of Care

At Pasadena Villa Outpatient – Chantilly, we offer two levels of care – a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Additionally, we have a virtual intensive outpatient (V-IOP) available in the evenings for those throughout Virginia, Maryland, and DC.

Our PHP includes intensive psychotherapeutic treatment and support in a less restrictive setting than inpatient care. Clients participate in a structured therapeutic program during the day while living in the comfort of their own homes with the goal of establishing a foundation for long-term recovery. Our PHP is appropriate for clients who are experiencing the following symptoms: suicidal thoughts with the ability to safety plan; self-harm; disorganized thoughts; difficulties engaging socially; withdrawal from others or normal activities; impaired performance in work or school; or difficulty attending to hygiene or completing basic life activities. Programming includes six hours of group therapy, five days a week. Family therapy is scheduled as appropriate. The average length of stay for our PHP is six to eight weeks.

Our IOP is designed to help individuals who are experiencing an increase in distressing symptoms and behaviors or aren’t progressing in traditional outpatient services. The extra treatment and support foster meaningful improvement and create a solid foundation for clients transitioning to community treatment.

Provided throughout the state of Virginia, our evening V-IOP is an eight-week program offered only in the evenings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm EST. Learn more here.

Our Program

At Pasadena Villa Outpatient – Chantilly, we provide customized care that’s designed to meet each client’s specific needs and unique goals. We understand that people are not their diagnoses; they’re a combination of all that’s happened in their lives and their future journeys. Because of this, our clinical team, which includes psychiatric medical providers and experienced clinicians, partners with each client and their family to design a treatment plan that provides a successful pathway to recovery.

Our clinical team creates intensive treatment plans that allow each client to explore new ways to enjoy life. In a supportive and healing environment, we take a whole-person approach to treatment using evidence-based therapies that facilitate progress from clinical care toward independent self-care. Our program provides tailored groups that meet each week to teach our clients practical ways to handle life’s challenges, ensuring they address each client’s needs. Group-based therapy, individual psychotherapy, and family sessions ensure optimal progress in treatment and help improve each client’s quality of life.

The treatment process begins with the primary therapist conducting a comprehensive assessment that, upon permission from each client, includes consultation with the client’s prescriber, psychotherapist, significant others, and other service providers. Our experienced medication prescribers oversee all treatments, conduct psychiatric evaluations, and provide careful medication management as needed. Our prescribers also communicate with the outpatient’s prescriber ensuring medication changes fit within their treatment plan. Additionally, we value and foster collaboration with other community providers as we serve as an extension of each client’s treatment team. The two-way communication ensures clients receive seamless continuity of care as they transition into and out of our program.
